Just before afternoon dismissal Monday at Oak Grove Elementary, the median in the middle of the parent drop-off loop had grass as tall as 28 inches. Large swathes surrounding it, the school and an adjacent community center measured a foot or more.
The city took over lawn maintenance from the school system several years ago in an attempt to streamline costs. Link
